A vertical pine frame strung with elastic cords that holds something like a hundred soft toys against a wall. It works because children can push a toy in and pull it out themselves, which is more than a toy box manages.
Soft elastic bands run across the frame. A child pushes a plush between two cords and it stays; pulling it back out takes one hand. Cleanup stops being an argument because the child can do it without help.
The natural pine version is the same fifty-four-inch frame at thirty-four dollars. That is a large premium for colour, and it is worth checking whether a can of paint and an afternoon gets you the same result.
Tall and narrow, so it takes almost no floor. It goes in the gap next to a wardrobe or behind a door. Anchor it if the room has a climber in it: tall and narrow cuts both ways.
