The seat sets at three heights and the footrest at two, which is how one chair covers a dining table, a kitchen counter and a low coffee table. Measure your table underside before you assume the tallest setting clears it.
The frame carries a six-year-old, though most families stop using the tray long before that and pull the chair to the table instead. Getting five years out of a hundred-dollar chair is the strongest argument for it.
